Stefan works as affiliated researcher at Stockholm School of Economics, SSE (Handelshögskolan i Stockholm). His research a interests focus on (1) Strategy and governance in membership based organizations such as associations, federations and cooperatives; and (2) The significance of foundations within wider society which involves the size, structure and development of the foundation sector both within Sweden and internationally, and also issues of strategy, philanthropy, grantmaking and internal governance. His current research focus on mapping the Swedish foundation sector, the governance of mutual insurance companies and Swedish think-tanks.
Filip works as Associate Professor at Stockholm School of Economics, SSE (Handelshögskolan i Stockholm), and serves as Director for the Stockholm Center of Civil Society Studies at SSE. He has studied organizations in civil society for more than two decades. With a general interest in the role and position of these organizations in different fields of society, his primary focus lies on governance and strategy. With the shorthand concept civil society (civilsamhälle) and a firm base in the research center established at SSE, he includes nonprofits, social movement organizations, charities, voluntary agencies, non-governmental organizations, foundations and other actors in the third sector or the social economy. His current research focus on civil society organizations and governance matters.
