The Centre for Nonprofit Sector Research (in Czech: Centrum pro výzkum neziskového sektoru, or CVNS) is a research institute of Masaryk University, based in its Faculty of Economics and Administration. Its economists, historians, lawyers, sociologists and political scientists research the current state of the Czech nonprofit sector and civil society and study their development from the perspectives of their academic disciplines and in cross-disciplinary and cross-national contexts. Miroslav Pospíšil is the founding director of the Centre for Nonprofit Sector Research and the founding chairman of the Society for the Study of the Nonprofit Sector in the Czech Republic. His research interests include philanthropy and foundations, functions of the third sector, operating environment of the third sector and the third sector in cross-national comparison.
Kateřina Almani Tůmová
Kateřina Almani Tůmová is a research coordinator at the Centre for Nonprofit Sector Research, the economic manager of the Society for the Study of the Nonprofit Sector and a project coordinator at the Faculty of Economics and Administration in Brno. She is an experienced practitioner who specializes in financial management, accounting and project management. She is the co-author of the annual report on public funding for nonprofit organisations commissioned by the Czech government.
